If you’d asked me last night how I felt about my menu, I would’ve said, “While it wasn’t a particularly nutritious day, I ate what I’d planned to eat and I didn’t eat any off-plan foods.” This morning though, I’m thinking that I’m feeling so dreadful because I ate too much dairy at dinner. I’m up 2 lb this morning, I feel shaky and just “sick”, and I’m having all sorts of digestive issues along with some nausea. I know that aged cheese doesn’t agree with me, and although it could be a coincidence, I doubt it. I’m still proud of what I accomplished though, despite a few complicating factors.
I’m also very proud of myself in the “pop addiction” department. I drank just 18 oz of Pepsi Max yesterday. The rest of the day, I sipped (and sometimes guzzled) my water that had a bag of peppermint tea sitting in the bottom of it. It’s amazing how much more fluid I drink when there’s a hint of peppermint. It’s not sweet, so sweet isn’t what I’ve been after in my beverage. It just tastes refreshing, and it really does help to quench my thirst.
Breakfast:
- 2 grilled Johnsonville mild Italian sausage links
Lunch:
- Microwave Chocolate “Cake” (made with coconut oil instead of butter)
Supper:
- braised pork ribs
- steamed, mashed cauliflower with cheddar cheese and sour cream
Snack:
- 1/4 c Planters Mixed Nuts with Sea Salt
Certainly not a nutritious day, but again, I’m thrilled that I didn’t eat foods off plan even if the menu was pretty pitiful.
